Brett M. Johnson is a seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and executive with a diverse background spanning professional sports, real estate, private equity, and digital media. As a Founder and Board Member of United Sports Development Partners (USDP), Mr. Johnson brings a dynamic blend of vision, operational expertise, and capital markets experience to complex mixed-use development and sports-led infrastructure projects.
Mr. Johnson is the CEO and Founder of Fortuitous Partners, a leading investment firm focused on sports-anchored real estate, and is also the Founder of Benevolent Capital, a private equity fund and family office. His real estate ventures include Octagon Partners, a development firm specializing in value-added projects. In the professional sports world, he is Founder and Chairman of Rhode Island FC (USL), and Co-Founder of Phoenix Rising FC, one of the most successful clubs in USL history. He is an investor and board member of Ipswich Town Football Club through his Three Lions sports fund.
Mr. Johnson’s leadership extends across several growth-oriented and impact-driven companies. He held executive leadership roles at Forward Industries (NASDAQ: FORD) and Targus, where he oversaw global operations with sales exceeding $545 million. His corporate board experience includes service on the board of Blyth, Inc. (NYSE: BTH), which was acquired by The Carlyle Group, as well as NYC Office Suites and TerraCycle, a global leader in recycling innovation.
Mr. Johnson holds a B.A. from Brown University and an MBA from Pepperdine University’s Presidential/Key Executive Program. He also completed the President’s Leadership Program at Harvard Business School and is an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).
